BioTrends is a HIPAA / HITECH cloud platform that enables the evaluation and treatment of behavioral health conditions and substance use disorders across all settings and patient populations.

The web and mobile system allows for the automatic scheduling, distribution and scoring of assessments to patients through e-mail and text messaging. This platform utilizes electronic versions of commonly used screening tools (like the PHQ-9, used to screen for depression) and worksheets used by mental health professionals to assist in determining baseline diagnosis and functioning, treatment course and longitudinal analytics to help support provider decision-making.

The alerting capabilities notify providers and administrators in real-time about patient risks. The journaling capabilities combine medications, conditions and biometric data points to build a 360-degree patient profile based on guidelines from the American Psychiatric Association (APA). The analytics indicate medication to condition correlations, commonly used assessments and treatments, likelihood of improvement given a particular medication, likelihood of exhibiting high risk severity, impact of sleep and exercise on health, and more.

The standard assessments are reimbursable through insurance which we setup, administer, and optimize entirely for you. We are experts in billing for psychometric tests.

Web and Mobile Assessments and Worksheets

The only platform that automatically distributes, reminds, scores and bills for standardized tools updated for the DSM-5.

Patient Severity

The system can objectively measure health, show progress over time, and combine the results with medical comorbidities. Patent-pending algorithm stratifies patient risk based on one or more standard assessment results to assist in identifying condition and severity.

We optimize reimbursement and can take over this chore for you. Our system understands when and what to bill based on the assessments utilized. We take over processing claims to give you back valuable patient time.

In addition to measuring outcomes from standard tests, we employ natural language processing (NLP) to determine mood and sentiment in therapy worksheets.

Over the last four years, our team of psychiatrists, computer scientists, and neuroscientists at CogCubed has been developing and researching a system to measure attention in children and more recently, adults. This tool, disguised as a game, is a novel method involving the manipulation of digital blocks to granularly capture data about behavior. This clinically translates into information about conditions like ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, and Depression. Research is ongoing and we're excited about its potential in the market.

To optimize this clinical research process, we internally built all of the tools and technology required to conduct clinical trials with this assessment tool. This included the assessment tool itself, but also the accessible repository for collecting several types of information from trial participants. The portal collected information relating to conditions, medications, and performance against several standard and proprietary rating scales that measure behavior. One discovery from a recent trial discussed in a forthcoming manuscript highlights the effectiveness in measuring behavior with several different tools. Intuitively, the research showed us that combining data from several scales, along with condition and medication data, produced better accuracy in identifying conditions and establishing treatment.

This led us down a path of creating a new web/mobile platform for assessing and tracking behavioral health trends that utilizes standard psychometric tests. Research indicates that measuring this type of data improves outcomes. From a reimbursement perspective, showing baseline and improvement is becoming the standard from payors.
